In late 2021, the annual subscription option for SW+ Alerts was removed, leaving only a monthly option for subscribers. Legacy annual subscribers were allowed to maintain access to their subscription and continue to receive alerts even after their annual term lapsed. Since late 2022, the app has been revitalized and rebuilt on a new platform - all while SW+ Alerts continued to be sent without interruption to users.
Starting with version 5.1 of the app (released February 2, 2024), the annual subscription option is once again available in the app. All subscribers with previously-lapsed annual subscriptions will be required to resubscribe in order to receive alerts. We highly recommend that you resubscribe at your earliest convenience to avoid missing important weather alerts.
Note: as of version 5.1, we are instituting a small price increase to monthly and annual subscriptions. For more information, please see this article.

HOW TO RESUBSCRIBE
OPTION 1
1. (If not already logged out...) Logout of your SW+ Alerts account by tapping the Settings button on the Active Alerts panel in the app, then tapping Logout at the bottom of the panel (shown below).
2. Tap the SW+ Alerts banner on the main (front) page of the app, select the subscription option you prefer (monthly or annual), agree to the Disclaimer and allow the purchase to take place.
3. After successfully purchasing, you'll be presented with a screen indicating that you need a SW+ Alerts account (see below). Since you were a previous subscriber, select the option that says "Already have an account? Login."
4. Login using your existing SW+ Alerts account. (You can also reset your password on this screen if you do not remember it.) If requested, tap "Allow" on the prompts to allow Notifications (and Critical Alerts for iOS devices).
OPTION 2
1. If you see a notice (like that below) on your Alert Settings screen indicating that your subscription has expired, tap Manage Subscription and subscribe to either the monthly or annual option via your App Store.
2. After subscribing, you'll be presented with a screen indicating that you need a SW+ Alerts account. Since you were a previous subscriber, select the option that says "Already have an account? Login."
3. Login using your existing SW+ Alerts account. (You can also reset your password on this screen if you do not remember it.) If requested, tap "Allow" on prompts to allow Notifications (and Critical Alerts for iOS devices).
(iOS) HOW TO CHANGE SUBSCRIPTION TYPE (MONTHLY → ANNUAL)
1. Open your iPhone/iPad Settings app, tap your profile picture, then tap Subscriptions.
2. Find and tap the StormWatch+ app under "Active." You should see the monthly subscription you are subscribed to. Tap "See All Plans" and then tap the "SW+ Alerts (1 year)" option and confirm your selection.
Your new annual subscription will begin when your current monthly subscription expires and alerts will continue without interruption.
(Android) HOW TO CHANGE SUBSCRIPTION TYPE (MONTHLY → ANNUAL)
1. Current monthly subscribers will need to cancel their active subscription, as these auto-renew. (Subscription cancellations are handled by the user via the Play Store; we cannot cancel your subscription. For instructions on cancelling, click here to view our Help Center article.)
2. Once you have cancelled your existing monthly subscription, you will need to subscribe to the annual subscription. That can be done by following the OPTION 1 instructions shown above.
